Tejal Shah is exhibiting her new commissioned work Between the Waves at dOCUMENTA (13) curated by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev.
Between the Waves, is a multi-channel video installation composed of performative film, text, animation and spacialisation of sound. It emerges through Shah’s recent interest in evolution models that present non-normative complexities and excesses of species and nature. With this project, the artist enunciates her own version of the relationship between Animal – Human – Machine – Divine, informed by interspecies and post-colonial studies, biological exuberance and post-porn theories, to cite a few.
