Khandakar Ohida presents ‘Dream Your Museum’ as a part of the exhibition ‘A Model’ at Mudam, The Contemporary Art Museum of Luxembourg.
“Ohida, a cultural art practitioner, has taken the opportunity of her uncle’s extravagant and random collection of objects - empty perfume bottles, non-functioning clocks, broken plates with Arabic calligraphy or interesting stones - to decategorise and decolonise what a museum can be.
Ohida’s uncle always wanted to be an artist, she said, but grew up without the possibility of ever doing so. The first academic creative in her family, Ohida is now using her training to archive her uncle’s collection.
Based on the 18-minute-long film projected in the museum, the next step is to create a movie that she wishes will inspire people to dream their own museum, a museum on the moon.”
