Muneum Wasif’s work will be included in the 16th Lyon Biennale- Manifesto of Fragility, curated by Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath
Promoting dialogue whatever the historical, geographical and socio-political contexts, manifesto of fragility supports creation and invites the widest and most open participation possible.
Thanks to collaborative processes, which will develop until the opening of the Biennale in September 2022, around fifty commissions and original artistic productions will be born within the framework of a decentralized program that will be deployed on various sites. Many works will be adapted to the architectural context of the places in which they will be exhibited, including several very large immersive installations. The Biennale will extend beyond its usual sites, over the whole of the metropolis of Lyon, but also on the regional territory in order to welcome a large audience.
The artists participating in the 16th Biennale de Lyon offer a diversity of approaches to the theme of fragility, with their very personal ways of understanding a state of global uncertainty. The Biennale calls on artists of different nationalities, inviting them to create a mosaic of nuanced narratives, thus illuminating moments of resilience in the face of societal, political and environmental upheaval. The artists gathered for this Biennial embody different facets of fragility, sometimes through the subject addressed, sometimes through the medium used. What their work has in common is the potential to nurture our thinking to generate pathways of resistance.
