Dhaka art summit: Moving pictures

A series of films on the Palestinian Liberation struggle, “Gaza on My Mind,” directed by cultural practitioners based in Gaza,  was screened  on the third day of the Dhaka Art Summit.

 

Curated by the Otolith group, the films bring real-life episodes of Gaza to celluloid. “The videos are a kind of critique of those limits and limitations of documenting social, historical, artistic, and ethical struggles that are ongoing in Palestine,” said Kodwo Eshun. The Otolith group which was founded in 2002 by Anjalika Sagar and Kodwo Eshun, who conduct research and work with moving images and audio, handling all aspects of the art, including performance, installation, and curation.
