Having maintained close ties with his hometown in Chhattisgarh–the so-called ‘pre-modern’ with its tribes, animals, trees, ‘crafts,’ urgencies, and deprivations, forms as much a part of artist Amitesh Shrivastava’s reality as the world of digital technology, virtual reality, and urban life.

The life he soaks up from his current residence in Mumbai–with all its mediatization, clamour, categories, and migrants- swirls in his subconscious with his parallel life at his childhood home in Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh–with its animals, insects, stagnation and small miracles.
