Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Shumon Ahmed works in various media – video, photography, text, sound, installation and performance. He has previously exhibited at the Whitechapel Gallery in London as well as the Fotomuseum in Switzerland and the Dhaka Art Summit. The venue for the show, Mumbai’s Project 88 gallery, is a 4,000-sq-ft space – formerly a metal printing press – and showcases contemporary work by forward-thinking artists working in the Indian subcontinent.
